What is legal expense coverage (retshjælpsforsikring)?
A legal expense coverag helps you cover costs in the Danish judicial system (incl. legal assistance). Legal expense coverage (in Danish: retshjælpsforsikring) is included in all ordinary home insurance (in Danish: indboforsikring) policies. If you don’t have such a policy, get one right away. Home insurance is generally inexpensive. Once you’re covered, you can save quite a bit of money — and your rent case may be fully covered as a legal expense.

Our prices are competitive, reasonable, and clear.
If CheckRent.dk finds that you have a good/reasonable case, and if we can initially offer you these prices for the first process with your lessor or residential rent tribunal, excluding the filing fee of 312 DKK:
- If you have legal expense coverage (in Danish: retshjælpsforsikring) through your insurance, we’ll take care of you as best we can. If your expenses are covered, your case will generally have no cost for you. Of course, the full rent reduction / repayment / compensation from the case will be yours to keep!
- Do you not have legal expense coverage (in Danish: retshjælpsforsikring), or are you not sure if you have an insurance policy that includes it?
- Legal expense coverage (in Danish: retshjælpsforsikring) is included in all ordinary home insurance (in Danish: indboforsikring) policies. If you don’t have such a policy, get one right away. Home insurance (in Danish: indboforsikring) is inexpensive. Once you’re covered, you can save quite a bit of money — and your rent case may be fully covered as a legal expense.
- If your legal expenses in the residential rent tribunal are not covered, we can offer to represent you at the tribunal for a price of no more than 25% of the calculated value of what you are awarded.
- If you terminate the case once the process has begun, the fee is 2500 DKK excluding VAT, 3125 DKK in all.
- If you are not awarded anything, there will be no cost to you personally for our assistance, and if you have legal expense coverage (in Danish: retshjælpsforsikring), you will not be charged excesses.
